AN OVERLANDER'S GUIDE TO ADVENTURING RESPONSIBLY
EXPLORE WITH CARE
RESPECT THE LAND • PRESERVE THE EXPERIENCE
At Shore to Summit Outfitter, we believe unforgettable overland adventures and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. From the Mid Atlantic shores and forests to the Appalachian summits and backroads, these landscapes are meant to be explored thoughtfully and protected for those who come after us.
That’s why we promote responsible travel practices and encourage every guest to follow the principles of Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly. These guidelines help ensure that the places we enjoy today remain wild, accessible, and beautiful tomorrow. We invite you to learn more through the educational resources linked below.
LEAVE NO TRACE
Leave No Trace offers seven principles for minimizing impact and respecting wildlife, landscapes, and fellow adventurers, ensuring these places stay wild for generations.

TREAD LIGHTLY
Tread Lightly promotes responsible outdoor recreation by educating users and encouraging stewardship of trails and natural areas.
TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY
Stay on designated roads, trails, and areas. Go over, not around, obstacles to avoid widening trails.

AVOID SENSITIVE AREAS
Avoid areas that are closed or restricted. Protect wildlife and their habitats.
DO YOUR PART
